Bauchi Gov Distributes 50 Operational Vehicles To Security Agencies

...As IGP hails the Governor over the development 


Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Saturday morning distributed fifty operational vehicles to security agencies in the state  procured by his administration for prompt response to emergencies. 

The governor while flagging off the distribution exercise at Government House, Bauchi, said the operational vehicles have been equipped with communication gadgets and other facilities required for the maintenance of peace and security. 


Governor Bala Mohammed said the procurement of the vehicles is a testimony of his government's concern towards a holistic approach to security challenges in the state thereby tackling armed robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling, farmer/herder clashes and boundary disputes, among others. 

The governor who said protection of lives and property of the citizens is one of the cordial objectives of his administration, hoped that, the distributed operational vehicles will enhance security operations in the state. 


"In pursuance to our objectives for the protection of lives and property of our citizenry, this administration procured fifty brand new Jac Pick-up vehicles to security agencies in order to enhance security operations at the grassroots."


"It is evident that no society will prosper with increasing number of criminal activities perpetrated by mindless and selfish individuals in the society. You will agree with me that without security, no meaningful development can be achieved."


Governor Bala Mohammed who said tackling security problems is the collective responsibility of all, tasked citizens to co-operate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities to them for prompt action.


The governor at the exercise commended the efforts of all the security agencies in curbing the rate of crimes in the state and assured them of his administration's continued working partnership for better service delivery. 


The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, who performed the distribution exercise described it as a timely gesture and a moral booster for the security agencies to discharge their assigned responsibilities accordingly especially in the fight against crime and criminality.


Represented by the AIG Federal Operations, Mr. Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, the IGP said security generally is a capital expensive that need serious funding particularly in the area of procurement of equipments for effective and efficient performance.


"Your Excellency, I thank you for ensuring the provision of this vehicles, we will use them judiciously. Once again I must commend you for the logistics support to security agencies particularly the Nigerian Police Force in Bauchi State."
