Gov Fintiri Visit SPY Condemns Destruction of Facilities

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has condemned the unruly behaviour of some students of the Adamawa State Polytechnic that led to the destruction of facilities in the school.

The governor who stated this when he visited the institution on Thursday said government is awaiting the report from the committee constituted.


Governor Fintiri described as unfortunate how students of Crime Management who are trained to institutionalise peace in the society turn out in such a manner.

In his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Ibrahim Umar, lauded Governor Umaru Fintiri for coming to inspect the level of damage at the institution.


Last week, some graduating students of Crime Management and Control staged a riot, destroying facilities following a circular issued by the management of the polytechnic, stopping them from carrying out a sign out party.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
