Easter Cantata:Prosperity Govt Well on Course - Governor Douye Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has assured the people of the state that the present government of prosperity is well focused to deliver to the people.

Speaking during the Easter Cantata organised in the state, Governor Diri, said all ongoing projects would be completed.


“We are commencing construction of a new commissioner’s quarters as part of housing scheme. Every job we have started, we will complete them. Work is going on at the Sagbama- Ekeremor, same for Yenagoa/Oporoma road and other ones. Our urban renewal programme is going fine to improve the status of  Yenagoa as a State Capital." 

The Governor who said the prosperity government is built on love, peace and reconciliation in line with the lessons of Easter, urged the people to show love, patience and support to this government.



In attendance at the Cantata which witnessed beautiful renditions from different groups were Wife of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Gloria Diri, Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Hon. Fred Agbedi, Chief Judge, Justice Kate Abiri, King Alfred Diete-Spiff and other top government functionaries.

Apostle David Zilly-Aggrey, led the ministers of God to the Cantata.

Delta awards N78bn contract for flyovers in Warri, Effurun

Delta State Government has approved the award of contracts worth N78 billion to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion in the Warri/Effurun megalopolis. This was part of decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday in Asaba.  Briefing journalists at the end of the Exco meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafiogho, said approval of the contracts were aimed at solving the gridlock often experienced in the twin cities.
