FINTIRI SWEARS-IN IMAM BAPPARE AS CHAIRMAN MUSLIM PILGRIMS COMMISSION

 Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday swore into office, Imam Bappare Umaru ken,  as the State Chairman Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Yola.

The Governor at a ceremony that held in the Government House, Yola said the choice of Bappare was based on his experience and track record.

He urged Imam Bappare who has served on the Board before to bring his vast wealth of experience to bear on the State by changing the ugly narrative perpetrated in hajj exercises over the years.

He expressed confidence that with the choice of Imam Bappare, the difficulties and other irregularities that first- timer pilgrims used to experience in previous years will become history. 

He charged him to ensure that pilgrims especially Fulani pastoralists that use their hard earned money to go to the holy land are not defrauded during the pilgrimage as his administration will no longer condone what he described as a menace.

While assuring the Chairman of his support, the Governor called on supporters of Imam Bappare not to put high expectations on the Chairman but assist him with prayers for the overall interest of the state.

In his vote of thanks, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Imam Umar Bappare ken, who thanked the Governor for his appointment expressed joy that Governor Fintiri is making a difference in the state. He assure that he will use his vast years of experience on hajj activities and bring changes in bed through ensuring justice in partnership with Islamic clerics to start early sensitization of intending pilgrims.
