Governor Fintiri Flags Off 6.8kms Mubi Bypass Road
𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 Monday 20th December, 2021, has laid the foundation for the construction of the 6.8km Mubi Bypass Road from Njaire Bridge before the toll gate advancing Dazalla, Sabon Garilinking Digil Road, all in Mubi Town, at the cost of Three Billion, Four Hundred Thousand (N3.4b) Naira.
𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 said “the Mubi bypass is a project that the people have desired for long. It has become even more desirable now considering the central role the project is expected to serve in the lives and livelihood of the inhabitants and visitors alike.”
“Without any doubt, this project is long overdue considering that the town has become a linear settlement along only one major road leading into and out of the town.”
The 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 reminded the people about his promise during commissioning early this year, to sustain the Urban and Semi-Urban Renewal projects until all towns and cities get befitting facelift not only for aesthetics but for the comfort and convenience of the teeming populace.“Today, this promise has become a reality for Mubi, a town which has come to symbolize our collective pride as a commercial and trade destination of choice nationally and internationally,” 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 said.
The 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 stated that the decision to construct the Mubi bypass was informed by the fact that with the Mubi International Market coming on stream soon, the influx of traders and businessmen will quadruple.
“In the quest to see that no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched in accordance with our 11-Point Agenda which is crafted to cultivate the ingredients of equal development, we have improved on the quality and quantity of Infrastructure in Mubi General Hospital, Rehabilitated several Schools, Constructed several Classroom Blocks,” 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 said.𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 reiterated that his administration has improved water supply in Mubi North and South in partnership with the European Union, which include: the Rehabilitation of Mubi Water Treatment Plant which is 100% percent completed, Rehabilitation of Water Works in Kolere which is 100% completed, Rehabilitation of Circular Tank Mubi also 100% completed, Rehabilitation of Ground Tank behind Mubi General Hospital also 100% completed, Rehabilitation of Network System connecting the already serviced tanks, Construction of Water Scheme in Gude, piping, and reticulation covering 8km to Gyella and 15.5km piping within the town which is 100% completed, and the testing of these Network System have been done from Gude to Gella which will be commission soon.
𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 also revealed that Government is ready to harvest this by strengthening the vast potential of this area in Agriculture and Livestock Development.
“It is in line with this that the State Government is prosecuting life-changing reforms in Agriculture with the launching of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme.”
“The programme is part of our aggressive drive to change our deplorable development indices,” 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 said.
In their remarks, the Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas and Members representing Mubi North and Mubi South constituencies - Shaibu Musa and Musa Umar Mbororo, saluted Governor Umaru Fintiri for awarding the contract for the Mubi Bypass Road.
The Managing Director of Triacta Nigeria Limited, Engr. Elie Abu Farahat, said the projects will be completed within the timeframe of 12 months and the company will ensure quality work.
In his goodwill message, the State Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu, said executing the Mubi bypass road among other projects in the state will pave way for the party to wax stronger.
The District Head of Mubi, Alhaji Aliyu Isa Ahmadu, described His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as a financially disciplined leader who is providing projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of the common man.
