Gov Fintiri Presents Vehicles To Traditional Rulers

In recognition of their roles, Adamawa Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday donated ten brand new vehicles to traditional rulers in state.

The vehicles that include five land cruiser jeeps and five hallux vans were presented to some of the first class emirs and chiefs in Government House, Yola.

In his remarks at the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri said the vehicles were to provide logistics to the traditional leaders as custodians of culture adding that his administration holds them in high esteem.

The Governor added that their role in entrenching peaceful coexistence in the society cannot be overemphasized hence the need for government to carry them along in the scheme of governance.

He stressed that the present administration relies heavily on traditional rulers in the maintenance of security and peace building because of their closeness to the people.

Responding, on behalf of the first class emirs and chiefs after collecting keys of the vehicles, Lamido Adamawa Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa thanked the Governor for the gesture.

Lamido Adamawa represented by the emir of Mubi Emir Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu said the special gift will remain indelible in their minds and promised that they will use them for the purpose intended.

He reassured Governor Umaru Fintiri of their continued support and loyalty to his administration, calling on the people to co-operate with him to enable him develop Adamawa to a model for others
