Gov Tambuwal Salutes Bauchi Gov Over Infrastructural Development

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Wednesday in Bauchi flagged off the construction of over 13 billion Naira four road projects in Bauchi metropolis initiated by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the state.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony held at Giwo Science Academy Bauchi, Governor Tambuwal saluted Governor Bala Mohammed over his infrastructural development.
The Sokoto Governor said the road projects when completed would among others, create ease of movement, upgrading business and commercial services as well as ease traffic in the sprawling urban environment.
Governor Tambuwal, who observed that the roads flagged off will beautifully and dramatically change the outlook of the affected areas, expressed confidence that Governor Bala Mohammed will leave indelible marks of performance in Bauchi State.
"I am delighted to be in Bauchi, a city I profoundly call home because of the historical bond between Sokoto as well as the bond of brotherhood between His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed and my humble self. The road construction which I am flagging off today are life-touching and life saving."
The Sokoto Governor who addressed Governor Bala Mohammed as Kauran Aiki, enjoined people of Bauchi State irrespective of party divide to give maximum support to the governor for more dividends of democracy.
The National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus who also flagged off two road projects, said apart from adding beauty and colour to a city, good roads provide easy flow of traffic and increase economic activities of the people.
Prince Uche Secondus congratulated the governor and government of Bauchi State for keying into the PDP manifesto which emphasizes the provision of social amenities, infrastructure and employment opportunities in line with the party policy.
"At this point, let me commend His Excellency, the Executive Governor for being brave in the face of the dwindling resources yet he is embarking on mind-touching projects to the good people of Bauchi State. The party is proud of our product in Bauchi State."
"Governor Bala Mohammed, is not only succeeding, but delivering beyond the expectation and imagination of the party leadership. I am happy to learn that the State Government is embarking on the construction of various projects across the state."
The PDP National Chairman called on the citizens of the state to support the governor in his effort to improve their living condition and urged them to discard the tendency of seeing government property as nobody's property.
On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed said in the spirit of continuity and progress, his administration decided to continue with some of the previously awarded road contracts by the immediate past administration having evaluated, renegotiated and ensured value for money for all the projects.
The governor said the administration in recognition of situation of the state, embarked on projects, policies and to reverse the ugly trend so as to drive sustainability and inclusive development of the state, thus, the concept of urban renewal and accelerated development programme was initiated as a process of change.
"In pursuant to the above, we embarked on both urban and intra-state road construction and rehabilitation in all the geographical regions of the state to meet up with developments in other sister states."

Governor Bala Mohammed who noted that the ancient city of Bauchi, the state capital since the creation of the state needed to have been opened up with streets to decongest the city centre and curb urban slum, said efforts done by previous governments were not sufficient to address the social challenges.
The roads flagged off, which is about 26 kilometers, are the dualization of the 17.7km Giwo Academy to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport along Kano road; Awala Hotel roundabout to Bauchi State University campus which is about 7km all Federal Roads; Mobil roundabout to Fire Service junction and Dogon Yaro roundabout to Zaranda Hotel.
PDP National Working Committee Members and some officials of the Sokoto State Government also attended the occasion .
