Gov Bala Promises To Construct New Judge's Quarters

Bauchi State  Government would commence the construction of new Judge's quarters at the old airport. 


Governor Bala Abdukadir Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) disclosed this on Sunday at the 2020/2021 Legal Year held at the High Court Complex, Bauchi.

The governor said the expectations of the citizenry from government were enormous, and it is important for all stakeholders to demonstrate patriotism and leadership, and work continuously to promote the rule of law and guarantee protection of lives and property.


Bauchi governor, who applauded the efforts of the judiciary in bringing sanity to the polity, challenged judges and lawyers to embrace transparency and accountability in the administration of justice in order to enhance confidence in the legal system.

He added that even though the Judiciary is not a core revenue generating institution, the amount generated in the preceding year is encouraging.


"We came with a clear mission and vision of developing Bauchi State in terms of infrastructural development and provision of human and capital development within the shortest time possible", the governor added.


Governor Bala Muhammad therefore, solicited the support, cooperation and understanding of other arms of government in particular and all stakeholders of Bauchi State in general, to join his administration in building a sustainable path for the continuous growth and development of the state.



"I congratulate the Hon. Chief Judge, the entire Judiciary family and general stakeholders in the administration of justice for the opening of 2020/2021 Legal Year. I wish you good health, Allah' s guidance and protection", he added.


Gov. Bala Mohammed therefore informed the gathering that  government would construct new Judge's quarters at the Old Airport, Bauchi Metropolis.


In her remarks, the Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, assured that the state’s judiciary, under her watch would effectively discharge its statutory duties of dispensing justice to the people and expressed confidence in the judiciary leadership.


"The relationship between the Executive Arm is very cordial, a collaboration with a lot of understanding even though operated independent of one another", the Chief Judge noted.


She said through the commendable effort and giant strides of His Excellency, Phase ll High Court Complex has been completed and furnished to a modern and befitting structure housing eight (8) Court Halls, eight (8) Judge's Chambers, Offices, Receptions, Court Cells and other facilities of a modern court building, completion of renovation and furnishing of Fadan Mada Courts, among others.


"His Excellency also provided brand new official cars for all the High Court Judges and Kadis of the Sharia Court," Rabi added.
