RMAFC Visit Bauchi State for Assessment Tour


.. As Bauchi Gov seeks for continued partnership with the commission 


Bauchi State Government has declared interest to work with the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to access funds in the resources development and stabilization funds of the federal government. 


Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed disclosed this when officials of the commission paid him an advocacy visit at the Government House, Bauchi. 


The governor said already the state government has submitted a request to the commission to leverage on natural resources and stabilization account, especially in the tourism sector. 


According to him, accessing the funds will assist his administration to provide the needed infrastructure and other services to the citizenry of Bauchi State. 


"I have told the people of Bauchi State that we will try and free resources and that's why we requested funds from RMAFC and today they are here in Bauchi for visit to some key places to enable us put the state on the path of development."


"We  always have  confidence in RMAFC and I interacted with them very well now when I was in the FCT, it was the same synergy and that has assisted me in providing infrastructure and services."


Governor Bala Mohammed who requested for continued working relationship between his administration and the commission acknowledged the support of the federal government to the state.


Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Professor Isah Mohammed Ningi, who is representing Bauchi State in the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), said they are in Bauchi to verify the submission made to the commission by the Bauchi State government for accessing Natural Resources Development funds, as well as stabilization funds. 


He explained that the funds were kept aside from the federation account for disbursement to states, federal and local governments.


Professor Isah Ningi described the relationship between the state government and the commission as cordial and called on the two parties to maintain the tempo. 


The State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Alhaji Umaru Sanda Adamu said when accessed, the Natural Resources Development funds would assist the state government to improve its internally generated revenue through tourism.
