Fintiri Condemns Boko Haram Attack In Garkida

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has condemned the Boko Haram attack on Garkida town in Gombi Local Area of Adamawa State.

The attack occurred when Boko Haram fighters attacked Garkida on Thursday, causing the death of two civilians including a 5-year-old, an eyewitness said on Friday.

“This latest cowardly attack on Gombi town is yet another desperate rear guard action by the Boko Haram terrorists who have been under intense pressure from the Nigerian military,” Mr. Fintiri said, on Friday, according to a statement by his spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou.

According to the statement, Mr. Fintiri condemned “the dastardly attack.”

“Let me reassure Adamawa residents  that this latest cowardly attack on Garkida, would not go without severe consequences."

Fintiri sympathised  with residents of Garkida over the unfortunate Christmas Eve attack, calling on security agencies to do more to further forestall attacks in the state.

Gov. Fintiri while regretting the appalling attack on innocent civilians noted that it is a  cruel reminder of the indiscriminate aims of the terrorists and an example of why everyone must be involved to confront a menace without boundaries.

"I stand with Garkida community in this difficult time, and will continue to support the Military's efforts to ensure peace, security and justice for the people".

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described the attack as outrageous and an affront to the people of Adamawa and to all humanity.
