Adamawa Govt To Release N1.5b To Offset Backlog Of Pensioners' Arrears

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says, before the year 2020 runs out, government will release the sum of N1.5 billion (One billion, Five Hundred Million Naira) to the State Pension Board to reduce the quantum of arrears of the pensioners in the state.



The governor made this known when he received some politicians from Yola North, Song and Fufore Local Government Areas who left their political parties and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa.


The governor noted with concern the plight of pensioners in the state and assured that his administration is on course to ameliorate their plights revealing that the present administration inherited a quantum of pensioners' liabilities since 2009.
